5 Traveling Tips which will keep you Sane
1) Save on Booking Your Flight! Spend Wisely
When planning your next much needed get away wouldn’t it be nice to save some money on your airfare? Well here is a little tip that you may not know. Domestic flights on Tuesdays and Wednesday’s are less expensive than any other day of the week. Most people are unaware of this little unknown fact and instead opt to travel Friday and Saturday when airfare is at a premium. So instead of giving this money away to the airlines put it in your pocket and spoil yourself. Splurge and treat yourself to a relaxing massage on the beach or a lovely dinner. My fiancé Josh is a sound supervisor on TV shows and his career has him traveling all the time. I try to visit him as much as possible so I am always looking to get the best deal available to me!
2) Don’t Look Like A Tourist
When traveling to a new place, one of the most frustrating things I encounter is not being familiar with my surroundings. Not knowing where to locate great restaurants, trendy bars/lounges, the closest bank or convenience store — it all can be daunting. Well if you want to know what is around you, I have your solution. It’s called the “Around Me” app. This game changing app will forever alter the way you search for things when you travel. It provides you with all the information you need when trying to navigate and explore your new destination. Looking for landmarks and historical sites to visit? Well this app has you covered in that category as well. The “Around Me” app will quickly become your secret weapon when traveling. You will never again feel like a lost tourist when it’s part of your repertoire.
3) You Need that One Perfect Dress In Your Suitcase!
Words from the great Diane Von Furstenberg: “a good traveler is someone who packs light, is very flexible and is ready for anything at anytime.” By this, DVF means to be ready for the unexpected; a meeting, an impromptu audition, an upscale dinner, or any adventure that may arise. So make sure in your arsenal you always pack your go to fabulous dress that is versatile and can be used for any occasion. Prepare for success! I have a stunning wrap dress that is effortless and appropriate for anything that comes my way. And as an added bonus, it takes up little to no space in my suitcase — a win win.
4) Make A Statement With Your Posts
So I have seen a salad before, and a margarita too! Unless you’re eating nachos with glow in the dark cheese, DO NOT over post your meals. Don’t get me wrong, I love a great food post and we are going to know you are on vacation, so be selective. Make a collage of your favorite meals! Also, make sure you choose pictures that are interesting and share the places you get to visit. When you are on vacation, we all want to see and experience it too! Make your life an online magazine full of fun and inspiration.
5) Bring Your Workout Gear
Don’t you hate it when you find yourself somewhere with the most amazing amenities, like a great gym or a new dance class you were dying to try, and you can’t go because you didn’t bring your yoga pants and sneaks? People spend so much time and cash decorating their apartment and houses, but not enough time taking care of the vehicle that carries you. Your body is the only place you are really going to live in for the rest of your life. You have to take care of it. One set of workout clothes is a must when traveling!
